Project: Develop BCC for a peer led HIV & AIDS intervention with fishing communities in Beruwela, Sri Lanka.
Client: The National Workers Congress (NWC) in partnership with the International Labour Organisation (ILO)
When: April to June 2010
Project Description: Conduct consultations with trained NWC peer educators on BCC requirements. Develop and test printed BCC with NWC peer educators and community members. These include card packs, banners for the fishing port and stickers for boats and trishaws. The focus was on unsafe sexual practices, including visiting female sex workers and men who have sex with men onboard fishing vessels. Develop other BCC strategies including disruptive theatre and other street theatre techniques, short surveys and quizzes and flash mob awareness programmes. Train peer educator team on simple monitoring and evaluation techniques to assess the impact of their intervention. Conducted by: Chamika, Hans and Prathibha
Project: Explore Potential for Private Sector Partnership with Development Agencies
Client: CARE International, Sri Lanka Office
When: January to May 2010
Project Description: Engage with selected private sector actors like John Keells Holdings, Hayleys, Cargills Ceylon PLC, and Brandix to explore the potential for partnership with CARE International. Facilitate panel discussion on local business CSR and business development initiatives at the CARE Regional Workshop in Sri Lanka.

Project: Evaluation of External Stakeholder Partnerships
Client: World Vision International, Sri Lanka Office
When: November 2009
Project Description: We conducted focus group discussions and key informant interviews with the World Vision external stakeholders (including local government) to determine the efficacy of World Vision’s community stakeholder partnership strategy. The evaluation took place in Ambagamuwa, Giribewa and Thanamalwila.

Project: Project End Evaluation - Community Rehabilitation and Response to Conflict in Sri Lanka
Client: Lanka Evangelical Alliance Development Services (LEADS)
When: September 2009
Project Description: We conducted conducted focus group discussions and key informant interviews with community stakeholders (including local government) and LEADS beneficiaries in Jaffna and Muttur (Trincomalee District) to assess the the impact of LEADS peace building and rehabilitation efforts. This project was funded by Tear Fund.

Project: Evaluation of HIV & AIDS and STI Prevention and Education Project Sri Lanka
Client: World Vision International, Sri Lanka Office
When: August & September 2009
Project Description: We conducted a knowledge, attitudes and behaviour (KAB) survey for World Vision project beneficiaries. We also conducted focus group discussions and key informant interviews with the World Vision team and key community stakeholders in Anuradhapura, Mannar and Negombo.

Project: People Living with HIV Stigma Index Sri Lanka
Client: UNAIDS Sri Lanka
When: June 2009 – July 2010
Project Description: This project involved training a team of HIV positive people from two local networks Lanka+ and Positive Hopes Alliance, who went out and gathered information on experiences of stigma and discrimination from other people living with HIV in Sri Lanka. This information was then analysed and reported on. We are currently developing a strategy for dissemination of key findings.

Project: HIV & AIDS Rapid Situation Assessment of Maritime Workers in Sri Lanka
Client: National Union of Seafarers in Sri Lanka in partnership with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Sri Lanka Office, and the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) regional office.
When: January & February 2010
Project Description: This project gathered knowledge, attitudes and behaviour (KAB) data from students of three maritime institutes in Sri Lanka (Colombo, Galle and Panadura) and from seafarers (including foreign seafarers) and dockers attached to the Colombo port. Research tools included KAB survey, focus group discussions and key informant interviews. This information was analysed and reported on, and formed the basis for developing peer led interventions in the sector.
